I know some of you are like, what are you doing? We just got out of school you can't start talking about next year just yet. I'm sorry but Blueberry and I have a huge year ahead of us... we are going to be beginning our first year of middle school on July 31st. This week is tips for middle school. I'm talking organization, friends, schoolwork, lockers, everything!
1) Be organized! This will be a huge part of your middle school year! Get binders, dividers, a planner for your assignments, and whatever you think you'll need to keep organized.
2) Excuses for absentees are gonna be something you need to keep up with too. I'm getting a pocket folder or paper protector to but in my binder for excuses. I'm also gonna write down in my planner what days I was out and why.
3) Sports teams and clubs are a great way to meet people and show your interests. Don't worry about what other people think of the club you join.
4) Along with number three...Don't worry about what other people think at all. Other people's opinions don't matter. I know most of you are thinking "easier said than done." I know it can be a hard thing just give it your best to stay confident.
5) Your friends should always be there for you but that may not always be the case. Make sure you don't tell your friends too much. They could always use it against you.
6) Lockers can and will be a big challenge st the beginning. At some schools you get time in homeroom to practice your combinations. See if your parents will let you practice a combination lock at home.
7) Finding the classrooms could be hard as well. Find another kid whose maybe a grade older see if they will help you get your room if not ask the janitor. Some of your friends will have the same classes as you so you could always walk to class(es) together if you need to.
8) Movies and TV shows often dramatize middle school. It's not really that scary.
9) If your going to wear make-up (girls) make sure not to wear too much.
10) Make sure to take a look or two at your schools dress code. You don't want to be sent home because of your clothes.
11) Study!!! This will a big thing for any type of test. Taking notes during class will also help during studying.
12) Write down your teachers names and the subjects they inside each notebook and maybe even in your planner.
13) High-lighters will be a huge help for planners and studying. I recommend a different color for each class if possible.
14) If there is a night that you don't have homework, look over notes, it could be an indicator that you have a surprise quiz the next day.
15) If you are absent make that (when you get back to school) you ask for your assignments missed so you can make them up. At some schools they make it your responsibility to ask for them and won't give them to you unless you ask. Also ask when the make-up work is due.
16) When decorating your locker be sure to make certain that your gonna have room for your textbooks, binders, pencils, and notebooks. Save as much space at possible.
I would also look on YouTube for tips and ideas. Somethings that work for others may not work for you. Everyone is different and we learn, socialize, and stay organized in all kinds of different ways Remember to enjoy middle school as much as possible. Let me know in the comments if you have anything to add to any of my tips.

Braces Update & Apology
My mouth is better know. It was sore for like four or five days after I first got them but it went away. My next appointment is July 22nd. I go back to get my wire and colors changed. (I don't have to get them tightened. My braces are heat activated so my body heat makes them tighten.)
I really don't like that I'm being told that I can eat this and I can't eat this. Makes me angry... no gummy worms, no popcorn, no jolly ranchers, no Doritos. It's depressing. I also have a problem with the fact that it takes forever to brush my teeth. Literally, I'm in the bathroom for ten minutes just to brush my teeth. Everyone says it will be worth it in the end. Boy do I hope so...
I want to apologize on behalf of BlueBerry and I, we are so sorry we aren't keeping up with posting. We are trying. We will get on track though. I promise.
